Sometimes “success” is just leaving the house

One day, I was helping a client get dressed for an outing. She decided she absolutely needed to wear two different shoes. Not mismatched styles—she wanted one sneaker and one flip-flop.

I tried reasoning. I tried negotiation. I even tried bribery. Nothing worked. So we went out like that. And, of course, halfway through the trip, someone stopped us to say, “Uh… nice shoes!”

She grinned and said, “Thanks, I like to keep people on their toes.”

I just nodded and silently counted it as a win. DSP life: sometimes your “success” is just leaving the house without a meltdown—or a fashion police intervention.
